Artist's Commentary

If you're just joining the story, you can read it from the beginning, by clicking HERE for episode #4.

I have been both looking forward to, and dreading working on this episode, as I knew it would take a lot of time for all the custom artwork and effects for each panel... I had no idea it would take an extra couple days longer than expected. My apologies for the delay.

I had some debate as to whether I should stretch the story out into 2 episodes to fully show the big 'finale' of General Clawed and his army... but I knew it would be an odd point to leave the audience hanging until next week. With some planning, I found I could hit all the key plot points I wanted, and still direct the panels the way I intended.... and it only took 17 panels to do it! Practically a 'double-issue' in this one episode!.. I'm exhausted!

I know those who have been following the story have been wondering what I was building to... well, now you know why I did the scrolling prologue text at the beginning of episode #5... just like it does at the beginning of the Star Wars films. I worded it in such a way for that episode, as I knew I'd need a good block of text... to create enough of a wall for Clawed's army to smack in to, and explode. The different views of the 'space words' in this episode took some planning, with the angles and perspective... but I like the final result.

So here we are... General Clawed is cast out into space with a broken spaceship, vowing to return... his army is destroyed, and the Earth is saved... but the story isn't quite over. A major "Hitch" malfunction on the Infinity Fighter!... The ship is going down!.... What will happen next? Come back for the next episode on Monday!
