An entire episode in a giant bottle! I've been looking forward to this one simply because it had easy backgrounds... which I thought would allow it to go quickly... but once again, I had some debate on the writing, and this time, had a new character to complete. With the backgrounds, however, I made sure to keep the continuity of the clouds moving behind the bottle, and the back and forth motion of the bottle itself.... the changing waves, etc.

The bottle was originally intended to be a tall wine bottle, but I realized I wouldn't be able to have that, and fit the entire scene into the comic panels without scaling the whole thing down... so Newt and John would be shown too small. So, with some planning, I made the bottle short and stubby... which would also make it appear more boyant. When designing it, I made sure to leave enough room for both characters to stand face to face with a little room between. The neck of the bottle was also made wide enough for both characters to be able to get into it.

The fish is a little guy I designed years ago... but never did anything with. I found him after some searching on an old hard-drive. I ended up touching him up a bit, and improving the overall design. I knew I'd need two designs of him... I especially like how the laughing fish design turned out.

I'll have the next episode online Wednesday night or Thursday... IT'S A BIG ONE!... this story is nearly finished!
